Stran’s 39% revenue increase was due to its acquisition of Gander Group, a California-based provider of casino continuity and loyalty programs. Related to the deal, Stran launched a new business division, Stran Loyalty Solutions, to serve the gaming segment. Still, the publicly traded distributor posted a $4.14 million loss as operating expenses spiked nearly 18%. Nonetheless, CEO Andy Shape, a Counselor Power 50 member and the 2023 Counselor Person of the Year, emphasizes positives that included launching a new ERP system, which will help with scaling. Stran also completed a financial reporting re-audit that secured NASDAQ compliance, a required move after its former auditor ran afoul of federal regulators.
