Counselor Top 40 supplier HPG’s (asi/61966) Chris Anderson pops up three spots on this year’s Counselor Power 50 list after another year of growth for the supplier. Following a 3% bump in 2024 sales revenue, Anderson and the Braintree, MA-headquartered company has been focused on reducing operating friction and shortening customer lead times through a variety of measures so far in 2025 – namely, investing millions in production equipment and technology, as well as opening a 135,000 square-foot facility in Sunnyvale, TX, and a Creative Center in Walnut Creek, CA, to house HPG’s in-house marketing “agency.” Closing the firm’s existing Salt Lake City, UT, facility, and consolidating production for several of the company’s sub-brands, including HandStands, Origaudio and Best Promotions, into the Texas facility was meant to streamline operations ahead of the holiday season.

According to Anderson, the overall goal of these investments is to make HPG the “first look” hard goods supplier for distributors across North America – a position reinforced by its EcoVadis Platinum rating earned this year for sustainability.

With that in mind, Anderson also has his eye on a different kind of growth moving into 2026. After several years of leaning heavily into growth through acquisitions, HPG hasn’t made an acquisition since fellow Counselor Top 40 supplier Evans Manufacturing (asi/52840) in early 2023, but Anderson plans to pursue at least one meaningful acquisition in the next year.
