Combat the Summer Slowdown

Summer is around the corner and with it comes pool days, beach outings, picnics and usually a slower pace to your day-to-day operations. With many customers and prospects away on vacations and schools closed for a few months, it’s possible to see slowdowns in business. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of actions you can take to combat the summer lull and keep the sales flowing:

  1. Spruce up your social media strategy. Even while on vacation, many customers and prospects will still be scrolling through their social media feeds. That makes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest great places to reach new leads and reinvigorate sales. Consider creating some content to increase engagement across your channels or even post a few videos to start more conversations around your brand and services.
  2. Build your email marketing list. Email is one of the most effective ways to get your brand on the radar of a new prospect. If you already have an email list, consider using this slow time to clean up the list and ensure every email address on it is accurate and in use. If you don’t have a list, now is the time to start building.
  3. Get educated. Investing in yourself and your education is an incredible way to grow your business. The more you know and understand about your industry, the better you’ll be able to sell within it. Use this time to brush up on sales tips and tricks or attend a few ASI University classes or webinars on topics you’d like to know more about.
  4. Ask for referrals or reviews from satisfied customers. Testimonials are powerful marketing tools, so whenever you have a happy customer post-sale, ask them to provide one. Use these months to create a database to house all of your positive testimonials to use in future marketing campaigns.
  5. Start looking ahead. A slower season means more time to tackle administrative tasks that will set you up for future success. Build out your Q4 marketing calendar and plan who you’re going to target in the fall and winter months.

How do you plan to keep the momentum going? What works for you or what things could you improve on this summer? Let us know on our social pages!
