Prospecting in the Digital World

For the most part, the digitization of the world has made things much easier for us, especially during the struggles the pandemic brought to our personal and professional lives. With this added convenience comes an additional hurdle of making meaningful connections with your prospects without meeting them in-person.

But with every challenge comes a new opportunity to stand out, be innovative and make yourself a brand to be remembered. Check out our tips for digital prospecting:

  1. Get to know your customers. Go into every Zoom pitch meeting ready to ask what kinds of challenges they’re facing, then offer your product/service as their solution.
  2. Understand your audience. Since your prospects mostly occupy the B2B space, focus your pitch on how you’ll help them save time and money. Get right to the point!
  3. Show, don’t tell. Listing off benefits or features might sound good on paper, but your prospects will quickly lose interest if you’re not engaging. Give specific examples of how you will help their business.
  4. Word of mouth is king. Happy customers will pass along your message to their peers, so making a great impression is key.
  5. Be yourself. Sure, you’re technically giving a sales pitch, but if your prospects think they’re being pitched to, they likely won’t respond the way you want. Having a more relaxed, conversational tone will help you earn their trust.
