ASI® Named a “Best Places to Work” 2006

TREVOSE, PA – October 23, 2006 - Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI), the largest media and marketing organization serving the advertising specialty industry, announced today that it was named one of the “Best Places to Work” in the Greater Philadelphia area, by the Philadelphia Business Journal – one of seven selected in the large business category.

The “Best Places to Work” designation is presented each year to 50 select employers that are dedicated to improving existing benefits and implementing new unique programs, emphasizing the importance of employee contributions and development.

“This is the second year in a row we have been named a top employer,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president of ASI. “We pride ourselves on having a family-friendly environment, along with opportunities that foster personal and professional growth, so that our employees can better maintain a balance of work and life.  If they are successful, ASI is successful.”

“One of our most distinctive programs is our parent return to work program,” said Carol Albright, vice president for human resources at ASI. “We offer eight paid weeks of daycare for new parents, either at our onsite facility or at a daycare center of their choice. This benefit has made it easier for many new parents to transition back into their work environments.”

ASI has also added a smoking cessation program and financial education seminars to provide more opportunities for employees to develop personally. Sixty percent of the employees who attended the first smoking cessation program session have successfully stopped smoking, and over 200 employees have learned the basics of buying a home, doing their taxes and planning for retirement at the financial education seminars.

A sampling of employment benefits available to ASI workers include: onsite daycare facility, onsite café and Starbucks coffee stand, recognition programs for special achievements, onsite dry cleaner, discounted auto insurance, 401(k) plan, profit-sharing program, tuition reimbursement, parent return to work program, staff development programs, employee assistance program, paid time off, and medical, dental, life and disability insurances.

To be considered one of the “Best Places to Work,” ASI completed an application process; became nominated; and surpassed the requirement to become a finalist by achieving an unusually-high 65% participation rate on a confidential employee third-party survey about working at ASI.
