ASI Named a Best Place to Work
Employees also nominate company for Best Place for Working Moms,
Best Employer Overall and Best Employer on the Job Training
TREVOSE, PA - March 31, 2011 - For the second year in a row, the Advertising Specialty Institute has been honored with a “Best Places to Work” award.
Greater Philadelphia Media sponsored the contest to recognize top regional employers, based on nominations by their employees. ASI won the “Best Places to Work” award among companies with more than 200 employees. ASI won the same award in 2010.
ASI was presented with its award at a luncheon hosted by Greater Philadelphia Media at the Pen Ryn Mansion in Bensalem. Greater Philadelphia Media publishes the Intelligencer, the Bucks County Courier Times and the Burlington County Times newspapers.
In addition, ASI was nominated by its employees in the categories of Best Place for Working Moms, Best Employer Overall and Best Employer on the Job Training.
“We’re delighted to be officially recognized for something every employee already knows - that ASI is a great place to work,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI. “The award and the nominations once again affirm that ASI is the kind of company that puts employees first. And we’re looking for more - right now we’re recruiting for account executives, QA engineer and junior Web developer, among numerous other positions.”

In-paper and online ballots asked workers to nominate their bosses and places of employment in categories such as Most Flexible Workplace and Best Employer Overall in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. More than 1,300 votes were cast in 24 categories this year, besting last year’s vote total by more than 200.
In 2009, ASI’s human resources department was named “HR Department of the Year” among Delaware Valley companies. In 2008, ASI was also honored for “Best Employee Wellness Program.”
In addition, ASI offers an array of educational programs, including an innovative mentor program that provides employees with the opportunity to learn through one-on-one guidance and coaching from a manager or supervisor. ASI also hosts monthly, in-house training classes about the advertising specialty industry, the company and its products.
ASI’s engaging work atmosphere is supported through fun activities, such as field days, ice cream socials, Halloween parties and an annual holiday mixer, and it recognizes outstanding professional achievements through quarterly president’s awards and an annual employee awards ceremony.
