ASI Honored With Human Resources Department Of The Year Award

TREVOSE, PA – November 24, 2009 - The Advertising Specialty Institute today announced its human resources department was named “HR Department of the Year” among Delaware Valley companies.

ASI won top honors among finalists in departments with 1-5 employees and was recognized for overall service excellence and impacting the success of the company.  The Rosen Group sponsored the awards, presented November 19 at the Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia.

The human resources department is led by Carol Albright, senior vice president, and includes employment managers Miranda Filer, Kathy Paolini and Katelyn Schneider, and employment specialist Jeannette Killeri.  Kate Malone, marketing communications manager for ASI, was credited for working with the team to help create branded internal employee programs.

“We’re very proud of being recognized for building programs that support our clients, who are our managers, employees and candidates,” said Albright.  “Our human resources department is always thinking outside the box to provide staff with the resources to develop professionally and personally.  Thanks in part to those programs, ASI is an inspiring place to work.”

ASI’s “wellness program” encourages employees to take their physical, emotional and financial health to heart.  Employees earn rewards for gym memberships, attending better-health seminars, joining weight management programs and more.  In 2008, ASI was honored for “Best Employee Wellness Program.”

In addition, the company offers an array of educational programs, including an innovative “mentor program” that provides employees with the opportunity to learn through one-on-one guidance and coaching from another employee.  It also hosts monthly, in-house training classes about the advertising specialty industry, the company and its products.

ASI’s engaging work atmosphere is supported through fun activities, such as ice cream socials, Halloween parties and an annual holiday mixer, and it recognizes outstanding professional achievements through quarterly president’s awards and an annual employee awards ceremony.

ASI joined other leading Philadelphia-area firms that were considered for the HR Department of the Year award, including the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Nutrisystem and SAP America.
