With the right tools and techniques, you can create a vintage feel for customers. Here’s how.
Step One: Choose the right artwork and separations. Distressing, by using brush tools in Photoshop or Illustrator, is a great way to achieve a vintage look.
Step Two: Use higher mesh counts when possible – 230 is a great starting point.
Step Three: Print the shirt. The “Better At Heartbreak” design (shown above) created for Nashville-based Recording Artist Matt Rogers was made by screen printing in three colors: under white – 200 mesh (flash), red – 230 mesh, highlight white – 230 mesh.
Step Four: Always make sure your ink temperature gets to 320 degrees Fahrenheit to cure fully.
