HanesBrands (asi/59528) announces that Michael Johnson has joined the company as director of marketing for activewear, overseeing marketing initiatives in the branded printwear channel for Hanes, Champion, Alternative and ComfortWash. Johnson has nearly 15 years of marketing experience, holding multiple roles with VF Corp., including eight years in a marketing leadership role with the company’s Licensed Sports Group.

JERZEES (asi/40650) has introduced its new snow heather collection in French terry and jersey. The collection has a distinct, lived-in look due to its unique slub, textured fabrication. The snow heather French terry is available in three styles: a French terry raglan crew, raglan hood and a ladies’ raglan full-zip hood. Made from a soft poly-cotton blend, it’s available in 11 colors in sizes small to 3XL. The snow heather jersey collection features vintage tees and a ladies’ racerback tank. Epson announced the opening of two new Epson Certified Solution Centers. One of the centers is at Prepress Supply in Orange County, CA. The other is at Imaging Spectrum in the Dallas area.

Accessible via web browser, the dashboard enables easier printing maintenance and better management of ink.
DRI-Duck (asi/50835) announced that vice president Nicole Parker will participate in a new Amazon Prime reality series. Titled The Social Movement, the series will follow four teams of thought leaders, entrepreneurs and investors as they are tasked with a unique socio-economic issue to solve. Each team will be paired with a not-for-profit organization to create a business strategy that will solve, not just help, the issue. The finale will be filmed in July in Montréal and released in 2020 as a six-part series.
Epson announced the SureColor T5470M – a new 36-inch wide-format printer and integrated scanner that offers a fast, multifunction solution for printing, sharing and saving technical documents. It prints in as fast as 22 seconds, making it an ideal choice for managing blueprints, charts, posters and more.

The integration will save time, increase accuracy and save money on shipping costs for high-volume customers through automation, and users will enjoy discounted USPS rates and a free USPS postage provider account.
Madeira has debuted Polyester Metallic CR embroidery thread, which features the attributes of a polyester thread with the shine of a metallic. It’s available in 30 colors of silvers, golds and jewel tones, can withstand laundry temperatures of 203° F and is resistant to bleaching agents and oxidization.

Vastex announced it has expanded its V-1000 economy line of manual, commercial-grade screen-printing presses with a new eight-station, eight-color V-1000-88 model. “The new V-1000-88 is the only eight-color manual screen printing press in its class,” says President Mark Vasilantone. The rear-clamp press features rubber-coated steel pallets and a unique floating head design that allows all-heads-down printing. With six-way head leveling and tool-free micro-registration, it’s said to deliver precise multicolor registration previously limited to machines of significantly higher cost.
Hotronix offers the LowRider heat press for easy fast application of patches and labels. The press is lightweight and portable and comes with three platens: a 6-by-6 inch, a 4-inch round and a Y-shaped platen measuring 1 7/8-inch by 5 7/8-inch.

Ricoma announces DecoSummit, a new educational experience for custom apparel decorators. The event will take place Oct. 11 to 12 in Ricoma’s new headquarters in Miami. The conventions will feature guest speakers, training courses, master classes and prize raffles. Speakers include YouTube personalities, Reyes Gasca and Jennifer Moore. Early bird tickets are on sale for $995 or $1,495 for VIP admission. The VIP package includes an extra day of hands-on learning.
Vastex offers a new LED back-lighting kit for the translucent acrylic back panel of screen washout booths, which improves visual inspection of the screen surface being reclaimed. Offered in two sizes, in 120 or 240v, the kit can be retrofit to existing Vastex washout booths. Both the light and switch are IP65-rated as being dust-proof and watertight.
HanesBrands (asi/59528) has partnered with Free the Girls to support women rescued from human trafficking. More than 200 of the company’s retail outlets are collecting new and gently used bras to assist the nonprofit in helping women in Mozambique, El Salvador and Costa Rica become entrepreneurs in the secondhand apparel market. The partnership is part of the company’s award-winning Hanes for Good corporate social responsibility commitment.
Brother DTG offers barcoding capabilities via Linx Production software, allowing decorators to offer mass personalization and high-volume small orders. Brother has also launched the Partner Portal, a one-stop website that allows decorators to search for consumables, inks and accessories using a search engine or a navigation bar.
