The figure includes much more than promo sales, which Cintas doesn’t break out. The uniform/facility services business channel was up 8.4% to approximately $5.5 billion, while operations that Cintas describes as “other” tallied an increase of 11.7% to around $1.57 billion.

“Each of our operating segments continue to execute at a high level, which led to robust revenue growth,” said Cintas CEO Todd M. Schneider.

The bottom line looked as good as the top during the first three quarters of Cintas’ fiscal year. Net income for the period rose 15.5% on an annual basis to roughly $1.15 billion, translating to basic earnings per share (EPS) of $11.34 and diluted EPS of $11.15. Operating income was up 14.2% year over year to $1.52 billion. Income before taxes was about $1.45 billion.

Cintas, a publicly traded corporation headquartered in Cincinnati, revealed the nine-month results as it also reported the company’s financial performance for its fiscal third quarter. That quarter ended February 29, 2024.

During Q3, total company sales rose nearly 10% year over year to almost $2.41 billion, net income jumped 22% to $397.6 million ($3.84 diluted EPS), and operating income was up 16.6% to $520.8 million.

“Based on our third-quarter results, we are raising our annual revenue expectations from a range of $9.48 billion to $9.56 billion to a range of $9.57 billion to $9.60 billion, and our diluted EPS from a range of $14.35 to $14.65 to a range of $14.80 to $15.00,” said Schneider.

In its fiscal year 2023, Cintas grew total company revenue 12% on an annual basis to $8.8 billion. Based on estimated 2022 North American promotional product revenue of $199.1 million, Cintas ranked 16th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry.
