The Ampersand Group Acquires Duncan Press

The acquisition will help Duncan Press expand its customer base, according to the two companies.

The Ampersand Group (asi/123051), a network of business owners in the promotional products and related industries with headquarters in Akron, OH, has acquired Duncan Press, a family-owned commercial printing and die-cutting company in Northeast Ohio.

Financial terms of the deal were not released.

The acquisition will allow Duncan Press, which was founded in a garage in 1957, to become a “one-stop shop” and expand its product offerings and e-commerce capabilities to simplify buying experiences. Ampersand Group said its “expertise in offering online stores, streamlining operations and implementing cutting-edge solutions to build brands in the digital space” will help Duncan grow its customer base.

“We’re excited to acquire a successful company like Duncan Press with a great group of people,” said Todd Mellon, president and CEO of The Ampersand Group. “With our wealth of experience in promotional products, printing and office supplies, tremendous buying power and cutting-edge technology, we’re looking forward to helping them grow to new heights while continuing to build their impressive legacy. It’s a win-win.”

This is the Ampersand Group’s second acquisition of 2024. Earlier this year, it acquired Trogo Sales, an Akron, OH-based company that specializes in branded uniforms and corporate apparel.

Affiliates in The Ampersand Group network include promotional products distributors and providers of print, business documents and forms solutions, as well as distributors of office supplies and business products. The Ampersand Group provides affiliates with back-office supports, e-commerce technology and more.
