“Sustainability isn’t just a priority at PCNA – it’s part of who we are, reflected in our commitment to supporting communities and protecting the planet,” said Nick McCulloch, director of ESG at PCNA. “We’re especially grateful to work with purpose-driven brands like Klean Kanteen, whose innovative approach to responsible manufacturing aligns with our ProudPath portfolio. PCNA has collaborated with Tree Pittsburgh in the past, volunteering to plant 19 fruit trees at their local community garden.

Through Tree Pittsburgh, the city of Pittsburgh became the 14th U.S. city to join forces with The Giving Grove, expanding its community orchard program. Interest in fruit tree cultivation has grown significantly across Allegheny County, and the partnership has already yielded significant results, according to the organizations.

In the 2023 growing season alone, the initiative led to the planting of 30 fruit trees, two nut trees and seven berry bushes across eight sites, with an expected annual yield of more than 3,800 pounds of produce. The achievement was made possible in part due to a seed grant from PCNA, which helped to launch the program.

Klean Kanteen, a family- and employee-owned certified B Corp, makes sustainable drinkware and is committed to reducing single-use plastic and supporting environmental causes. Klean Kanteen drinkware is manufactured using certified 90% postconsumer recycled 18/8 stainless steel, resulting in a 40% reduction in steel greenhouse gas emissions.
