Staples Promotional Products (SPP, asi/120601), the third-largest distributor in the promo industry, has appointed Bill Gossman as senior vice president and head of SPP, replacing departing president and Counselor Power 50 member Daron Hines. The transition went into effect on Wednesday, Feb. 4, a spokesperson from SPP has confirmed with ASI Media.

Bill Gossman has succeeded Daron Hines, formerly president at Staples Promotional Products (asi/120601).
Hines joined the Overland Park, KS-headquartered distributor in 2022 and leaves behind a legacy of corporate social responsibility and a commitment to sustainability. Less than a year after he stepped into his role, SPP launched its Green Light Responsible Sourcing program, a sustainable procurement platform that functions in partnership with EcoVadis to provide data on sustainability and supply chain transparency. Hines worked tirelessly to expand and maintain the program during his tenure.
Gossman builds on his 18-year tenure at the firm, first as the vice president of merchandising, procurement and logistics, and more recently as the vice president of customer experience, where he led a team of over 500 people focused on digitizing workflows and supporting sales.
A spokesperson from SPP said Gossman’s longstanding commitment to its customers, partners and team members positions him well to lead the company forward. SPP remains fully focused on delivering its services and solutions during this transition period.
Based on 2024 North American promotional products revenue of $924.1 million, SPP ranks third on Counselor’s most recent list of the industry’s largest distributors.
