• Going Forward: P&S will remain a separate entity under Front Nine’s umbrella, with production shifting to Front Nine’s West Nyack, NY, facility.

It’s lucky number seven for Front Nine Capital.
The West Nyack, NY-headquartered investment firm, which specializes in purchasing and operating businesses within the screen-printing, embroidery and promotional products industry, just announced its seventh acquisition since its founding in 2015.
Front Nine, which does business as Star Print & Embroidery, has purchased Premiums & Specialties Inc. (P&S, asi/298990), a Medford, NJ-based promo distributor/decorator that’s been in business since 1983.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t released. Executives said P&S will operate as its own entity under the Front Nine umbrella of brands. Production, however, will shift to Front Nine’s facility in West Nyack.
“We are thrilled to integrate our customer-focused service with Star Print & Embroidery’s (Front Nine’s) exceptional production and logistics capabilities,” said P&S’ Nate Perkins, whose family founded and has operated P&S over the decades. “This partnership is an ideal fit for P&S, and we are confident that Star will continue to build on the legacy our family has built over the past 40 years.”
P&S works with a diversified base of clients across the United States, including military and government agencies, schools, utility companies, casinos, manufacturing and industrial companies, financial institutions and service organizations, executives said.
Jeffrey Cooperman, owner of Front Nine Capital, said P&S brings “a unique and loyal customer base that we’re committed to serving with the same high standards the Perkins family is known for. Strong customer relationships are an integral part in each of our businesses, and P&S fits that mold exactly.”
A certified public accountant with a degree from Syracuse University, Cooperman founded Front Nine Capital in 2015 after having worked as CPA at WeiserMazars, where he provided audit and consultation services to clients in the manufacturing/distribution, media and not-for-profit industries.
From the outset, Front Nine’s mission has been to acquire and operate apparel decorators/distributors. Acquisitions to date include Mainly Monograms (asi/259775), Star Embroidery, Logo Wearhaus, On Time Screen Printing & Embroidery, Wild West Shirt Company, and Pentland Graphics, in addition to the most recent purchase of P&S.
“We’re excited,” said Cooperman, “to add the Perkins family business to our growing portfolio.”
