• Stahls’ plans to open a European counterpart to SF-1 within the next year, reflecting its belief that print-on-demand will dominate the decorated apparel and promo product market within five to 10 years.

Stahls’ (asi/88984) is increasing its print-on-demand footprint. The print and decoration service provider has unveiled its Stahls’ Fulfill ONE (SF-1) facility in Chesterfield, MI – its new fulfillment center opened as a physical complement to its Fulfill Engine software.

“POD is the fastest-growing sector in garment and promotional product customization,” the company said in a news release. “The ability to produce exactly what’s needed when it’s needed eliminates waste, reduces excess inventory and streamlines fulfillment like never before. Stahls’ Fulfill ONE is at the forefront of this transformation, empowering businesses with a seamless, tech-driven solution that accelerates growth and innovation.”

Stahls’ (asi/88984) opened its Stahls’ Fulfill ONE print-on-demand fulfillment facility in Chesterfield, MI. The company plans to expand to Europe with another facility within the next year.

The Fulfill Engine software and Stahls’ print-on-demand offering includes a variety of decoration techniques and substrates, like one-off printed apparel, leather and embroidered patches, direct-to-film for custom drinkware, laser engraving, web-to-print packaging, and custom printed wallpaper and wrapping paper. The company is also exploring 3D printing technology for 3D printed emblems, using the company’s Liquid 3D apparel decoration technique exclusively at the SF-1 facility.

At Stahls’, print-on-demand is the future of decorated apparel and promotional products; it hosted a conference dedicated to POD earlier this year. Especially as buyers continue to value environmentalism and sustainability, there’s increased demand for products printed without the fear of deadstock going to waste. Creating a dedicated fulfillment center for that purpose is in line with the company’s vision.

“I do see a future, probably in five to 10 years, where print-on-demand becomes the majority of units and revenue,” Stahls’ Chief Revenue Officer Josh Ellsworth told ASI Media. “When you look at it, it just logically makes sense as the smarter way, both financially and environmentally, to transact business.”

Stahls’ plans to take the spirit and capabilities of SF-1’s print-on-demand business across the pond by opening Stahls’ Fulfill One EU in the next year, though the exact location hasn’t been disclosed yet.
