Charles River Apparel Launches ‘Clothing for a Cause’
It’s the latest charitable campaign from the philanthropically-minded Top 40 supplier.
Top 40 supplier Charles River Apparel (asi/44620) says that doing good is part of the company DNA. The Sharon, MA-based firm is again backing up that statement with action through a new philanthropic initiative.
Dubbed Clothing for a Cause, the program centers on Charles River donating 10% of total sales of several popular jacket styles to particular charities.
Running from May 1st through the end of 2019, the campaign focuses on the Women’s Chatham Anorak Solid (5809), the Youth Performer Jacket (8921), the Children’s Performer Jacket (8921) and the Doggie Rain Jacket (1099).
Part of the sales of the Chatham Anorak will help support First Descents, which provides life-changing outdoor adventures for young adults (ages 18-39) impacted by cancer, Charles River said.
Meanwhile, a portion of the sales of the Youth Performer and Children’s Performer jackets will benefit Camp for All Kids, which promotes and facilitates racial diversity by sending children from under-served communities to overnight summer camp, according to the supplier.
Finally, part of the Doggie Rain Jacket sales will support the Pets and People Foundation, which offers pet-assisted therapy visits to those in need.
Clothing for a Cause is the latest do-gooding outgrowth of Charles River Cares, a charitable giving program the Top 40 firm started in 2010 to focus company efforts on philanthropic endeavors. Colors for a Cause is another successful giving-back campaign that Charles River has undertaken.
“Charles River’s mission is to create a community and environment that is passionate about giving back,” the company said in a statement. “As a family-owned business, the company is grateful to be able to give back and help people in need.”
