Stran & Company (asi/337725), a Top 40 promotional products distributor, has promoted David Browner to chief financial officer.

Browner has been with Stran since 2012. He had been serving as interim CFO since July 2022. Prior to that, he was controller for 7½ years, having started at the Quincy, MA-headquartered distributorship as a staff accountant. Browner holds a master’s of business administration (accounting) from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Stran CEO Andy Shape, a member of Counselor’s Power 50 list of promo’s most influential people, said Browner has proven he’s the right executive for the job.

“We have witnessed his management, operational and financial skills and appreciate his significant contributions to the company’s growth and integration of several acquisitions,” Shape said. “Given his long relationship with the company and background, we believe David is a valued member of our leadership team, as we execute on our near and long-term growth strategy with a focus on maximizing operational efficiency.”

As controller and later CFO, Browner was responsible for the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports, managing Stran’s finance team, and overseeing special projects – including software implementation, workflow analyses and yearly budgets.

Based on reported 2021 North American promotional product revenue of $47.3 million in 2021, Stran placed 34^th on Counselor’s most recent Top 40 distributor rankings.
