Alliance Mercantile Inc. Acquires Boardroom Custom Clothing

MIK Industries and its subsidiary Alliance Mercantile Inc. (AMI) is acquiring Boardroom Custom Clothing/Eco Apparel (asi/40705), the companies have announced. Financial terms of the deal were kept private.

With the acquisition, Washington state-based MIK/AMI’s total revenue will increase to close to $100 Million. “I believe that the combined resources of AMI and Boardroom will provide a unique combination of apparel options to distributors in the ad specialty/promotional products market place ” said Doug Bell, CEO of AMI.

Per terms of the deal, Boardroom will go forward as an independent division of AMI. All promotional product/uniform business for Boardroom and AMI will be handled through Boardroom’s office in Vancouver, B.C., with support from AMI’s North American distribution centers and sales force.

“Having access to AMI’s large distribution network, sales force and 250,000 square feet of office and warehouse space across North America will help to service our existing customers in Canada and the USA,” Trotzuk said in statement. “It will be so nice to have an office and warehouse in Washington state to support our U.S. customer base and to warehouse inventory from our Vancouver and offshore apparel manufacturing facilities.”

Bell was excited to be bringing Trotzuk and his talented team aboard. “Mark Trotzuk has consistently brought cutting-edge, contemporary and innovative designs to our industry, and Mark plans to continue to take Boardroom and AMI in new directions to keep pace with the ever changing apparel requirements that end users are demanding,” Bell said.

Founded in 1996 by Trotzuk and recently retired Lan Tran, Boardroom Eco Apparel takes the “eco” in its name seriously. In 2005, the business transformed its supply chain to mitigate environmental damages in order to provide apparel products that were less impactful to the planet. Boardroom maintains strict compliance standards with the majority of its fabrics being derived from recycled polyester.

Founded in 1959 by Joel Sardone, Alliance Mercantile is privately owned and operated. The company’s offerings include recreational and industrial products, its main brand being “VIKING” waterproof breathable outerwear. Products include industrial/recreational outerwear, FR and safety hi-visibility outerwear, FR and regular coveralls/overalls, safety/recreational footwear, and various consumer household products, such as rubber gloves, lint rollers, and more. AMI owns and operates warehouses in the U.S. and Canada.
