Recall On Children’s Robes, Women’s Scarves
Violations of federal flammability standards for clothing prompted the separate recalls.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced recalls on children’s robes and women’s scarves because both products fail to meet federal flammability standards, thereby posing a burn risk to wearers. No incidents or injuries have been reported, the CPSC said.
The first recall involves a children’s 100% cotton terry robe from The Company Store. Manufactured in Turkey, about 13,000 units sold for around $60 between March 2015 and October 2018 on www.TheCompanyStore.com. Atlanta, GA-based Home Depot, which was doing business under The Company Store name, imported the robes. The CPSC also named Hanover Company Store LLC, of Weehawken, N.J. as an importer.
Sold in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL, the robes came in blue, green, gray, orange, pink, purple, red and white. Long-sleeved and hooded, the robes have two front pockets and two side seam belt loops with a matching belt. “The Company Store,” “RN#120962” and a tracking number beginning with either “CS3981DR,” “CS0981DR” or “28738” are printed on a sewn-in neck label.
“Consumers should immediately take the recalled robes away from children, stop using them, and contact The Company Store for a full refund of the purchase price,” the CPSC said, noting that the firm is contacting all known purchasers directly.
The Company Store can be reached at 800-273-7702 from 6 a.m. to midnight CT Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Saturday and Sunday. Concerned consumers can also go online at www.thecompanystore.com.
Meanwhile, the other recall involves 100% silk Raj Imports women’s scarves, which are purple with an allover butterfly and bow pattern. Measuring about 71 inches long by 20 inches wide, the scarves have “Raj RN NO 115832 Made in India 100% Silk ONE SIZE” printed on a brown side seam label.
Through August of this year, about 300 units sold online at www.rajimports.net and www.zulily.com for about $15. California-based Raj Trading & Imports (USA), Inc., which was doing business as Raj Imports, imported the scarves, the CPSC said.
For a full refund, consumers can contact Raj Imports toll-free at 866-368-9899 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, email at rajimports@hotmail.com with “Product Recall” as the email subject, or go online at www.rajimports.net.
