Ecorite Announces Environmental Giveback Program

The Canadian supplier will donate a portion of sales to Conservation International beginning in January.

Toronto-based Ecorite (asi/51654), a division of Canada Sportswear (asi/43682), is building on its commitment to the environment in 2024. Starting Jan. 1, the maker of promotional totes, bags, coolers, blankets and other products will be designating a portion of sales each year to Conservation International.

“We are pleased and excited to announce our decision to share in our good fortunes with Conservation International and to designate a portion of our sales proceeds each year to support their vital conservation work,” said Alex Jovetic, vice president of sales and marketing at Ecorite.

He added that the new collaboration “underscores our commitment to environmental sustainability and highlights our responsibility as a business to contribute to the protection of our planet.”

Conservation International is a nonprofit that’s been around since 1987, with a mission to conserve important ecosystems and address climate change through science, partnerships and fieldwork. The funds that Ecorite contributes to Conservation International will be used to support a variety of initiatives: forest protection, marine conservation, sustainable agriculture and climate change mitigation. Over the last 30-plus years, Conservation International says it’s helped to protect over 2.3 million square miles of land and sea across more than 70 countries.

Started in 1991, Ecorite has long focused on providing environmentally friendly promotional products to North America. The supplier notes on its website that more than 70% of its stock styles are made of either recycled, organic or biodegradable materials.
