Taylor Communications Acquires NY-Area Firm’s Assets

Top 40 distributor Taylor Communications (asi/333647) announced that it has completed an asset acquisition of Plug Production Group, a New York-area company that specializes in producing retail and event graphics, museum exhibits and signage, vehicle graphics and custom SEG hardware. Terms of the deal were not revealed.

Combined, Taylor and Plug Production Group now have operations in Beaverton, OR, Columbus, OH, and just outside New York City. “The Plug Production Group asset acquisition enhances our ability to provide quick turn graphics that augment our entire solution set,” Mark Keeton, Taylor Communications’ vice president of solution management, told Counselor. “Client turn time expectations are increasingly compact especially for their important events. Adding Plug’s assets and people significantly increases our capabilities and allows us to turn entire projects in less than 24 hours, helping our clients improve customer experience, drive efficiencies and grow revenue.”

Executives said the newly expanded company features benefits for customers that include: a larger, upgraded facility and equipment; design/research and development services; 3-D production and fabrication, including dimensional signs and LED sign solutions; large- and small-format digital/screen printing; lithograph, direct dispersal fabric dye sublimation; and full finishing services.

“Our combined team and upgraded facility ensures our goal of helping our clients improve customer experience, enhance efficiency and drive revenue,” Keeton added in a statement. “Plug clients now have the added benefit of a nationwide network of experts dedicated to developing interesting and innovative solutions for their toughest communication challenges.”

Phil Paradise, former president and owner of Plug, has joined Taylor Communications as a senior account executive. “We are very excited to join Taylor Communications,” said Paradise. “Taylor is considered the gold standard in the industry. Our existing clients will now have access to Taylor’s vast array of solutions, as well as the outstanding service they have come to expect from Plug.”

Plug’s website says the firm’s clientele is spread among retailers, museums, graphic designers, event marketers and entertainment professionals. “From design and production, to shipping and installation anywhere in the U.S., the Plug team is dedicated to providing the highest level of service and quality,” the company website says.
