Next Level Apparel Appoints New President
Michael Alexander is now in the key leadership position at the Top 40 supplier.
Next Level Apparel (NLA, asi/73867), a Top 40 supplier, has named Michael Alexander as its new president.
Alexander comes to the California-based supplier from Careismatic Brands, Inc., where he was most recently executive vice president. He has more than 10 years of executive leadership in the apparel industry, NLA said. Careismatic operates in the medical apparel and footwear space.
“This is a big win for us. Mike is joining us at time when we have a lot of momentum and he makes us that much stronger,” said NLA CEO Randy Hales. “He played a key role in the growth of Careismatic from $200 million to over $600 million during his tenure, including a three-year initiative that grew the digital revenue side of the business to over $100 million.”
As president of NLA, Alexander will have leadership responsibility for sales, marketing, and product management, with a focus on implementing strategic initiatives that “deliver a cohesive, cross-functional go-to-market approach aimed at growing the company’s top line,” the supplier said.
While at Careismatic Brands, Inc., Alexander provided strategic direction and leadership to cross-functional teams, including B2B and D2C sales, product design and merchandising, marketing, and customer service. He’s excited to now be part of NLA.
“This is like joining a team on its way to the Super Bowl,” Alexander said. “I’m thrilled to be joining the company and to do my part to build upon the successes at Next Level Apparel. I believe there are many opportunities to expand our product offering in adjacent categories and grow with both our existing customers and new ones, along with extending our global footprint.”
Alexander holds an MBA from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from National University in La Jolla, CA. Prior to Careismatic Brands, he worked in 3M’s healthcare business as a corporate business manager. His background also includes time as a financial advisor and a director of sales and marketing at a medical equipment company.
Executives noted that Alexander is president of all of NLA. Jason Buchanan continues as president of sales.
Based on estimated 2021 North American promotional product revenue of $275 million, NLA ranked seventh on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
