Bergman Incentives Acquires The Adwood Company
Both promotional products distributorships are located in Nebraska.
Omaha, NE-based promo products distributor Bergman Incentives has acquired The Adwood Company (asi/114863), a Lincoln, NE-based ad specialty distributorship. The deal closed Tuesday. Financial terms were not released.
Executives at Bergman, which also has offices in Kansas City, said that acquiring Adwood will help the firm serve a larger geographic area while providing better service to current clients. Mike Battershell, Bergman’s president, is particularly excited about the opportunities that lie in Lincoln’s growing startup and technology sector. “We’re thrilled to be part of it and to continue to help brands take shape,” Battershell said.
Adwood President and now former owner Bill Weesner praised Bergman Incentives’ “technological expertise” and “unique client services,” saying the Omaha-headquartered firm will help enhance the client experience for Adwood’s customers. “After more than 20 years in the business, I’m excited to have the support of the Bergman Incentives team to continue to provide stellar service for my clients,” Weesner said.
Going forward, Adwood will go to market under the Bergman name, Battershell told Counselor. Five Adwood employees in roles that range from sales to graphics are joining Bergman, he said.
According to Battershell, Bergman is engineering a strong 2019 – with even better days ahead. “We’re already up double digits before this deal value is included,” Battershell told Counselor. “We attribute our continued market strength to our team and their focus on delivering excellence for our clients.”
Founded in 1888, Bergman Incentives has been a Nebraska family-owned and operated business for five generations. The firm provides branding/marketing services, apparel decoration, company stores, promotional products and more.
