Apparel Decorator Adds AI Text-to-Image Generator to Online Design Tool
BlueCotton said the offering enhances and further simplifies web-based graphic creation for clients.
A Bowling Green, KY-based apparel decorator has built an artificial intelligence feature into its online design tool; it generates graphics for apparel and other items based on text that users input into the system.
BlueCotton said the AI-fueled text-to-image generator enables customers to describe their envisioned design with words. After typing in the description, users receive several graphic options based on the text from which to choose for placement on apparel, bags and/or accessories, such as headwear. BlueCotton, which handles print and embroidery in house, then prints and ships the products users created with AI.
“The focus of BlueCotton is continuous improvement of the customer and employee experience,” said company CEO/founder Mike Coffey. “We believe this is yet another step in making the process of creating your own design easy, no matter the skill or creative level of the user.”
Users can combine their selected AI-created image with whatever wording they’d like in the design tool. If desired, designs can also feature an uploaded image or clip art image from BlueCotton’s library.
The apparel decorator said it launched its web-based design tool in 2007. Customers don’t have to use the AI feature. They can still upload their own image, choose from clip art, or use some combination of those with or without text if they prefer.
Founded in 1991, BlueCotton provides solutions for businesses, schools, churches, sports teams, and other end-clients. The firm said it ships nationwide.
Artificial intelligence has been a hot topic lately in society broadly and the promotional products industry in particular.
In January at the ASI Show Fort Worth, keynoter and early tech adopter Marki Lemons Ryhal shared how industry companies can use artificial intelligence platforms to improve online visibility, create more customer-attracting content quickly and grow sales. The Social Angle podcast from ASI Media recently featured a spotlight on ChatGPT and the promo industry. Last November, Givenly (asi/155107) launched personalized gift catalogs using AI.
