The Bright Side: Storm Creek Launches Girls on the Run Giveback Campaign

The apparel supplier is partnering with women-owned distributors to donate 10% of sales to local chapters of the nonprofit throughout Women’s History Month.

Storm Creek (asi/89879), an Eagan, MN-based apparel supplier and 2024 Counselor Best Place to Work, wants to collaborate with women-owned distributors to give back during Women’s History Month.

Throughout March, the sustainability-focused supplier will donate 10% of sales (over $500) from women-owned distributors to Girls on the Run International, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young girls through physical activity and mentorship. The giveback program adds no additional cost to the distributor.

Storm Creek said the campaign underscores its commitment to supporting other women-owned businesses, while giving back to a cause that uplifts and inspires the next generation of female leaders. The 10% donation will be directed to each participating distributor’s local Girls on the Run chapter.

“I am thrilled to join forces with Girls on the Run International as we celebrate the achievements and contributions of women throughout history,” said CEO Teresa Fudenberg, one of Counselor’s 2023 Bess Cohn Humanitarians of the Year. “I am energized by the opportunity to work with other women-owned businesses to help reach Storm Creek’s goal of generating $5 million for charity by 2030.”

Girls on the Run inspires girls to recognize their potential, teaching valuable life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running activities. The program has reached more than 2.25 million people, and 97% of participants say they’ve learned valuable life skills, according to the nonprofit’s website.

“As we honor Women’s History Month, it’s essential to invest in the future of young girls and provide them with the tools they need to succeed,” Fudenberg added. “Together, we committed to fostering a world where every girl can reach her full potential, regardless of the obstacles she may face.”

In addition to the 10% donation pledge, Storm Creek is introducing two sample kits exclusively for women. These kits feature a selection of trending colors and silhouettes for all seasons. Each sample kit will showcase the comfort, style, fit and sustainability of Storm Creek’s products, providing all distributors with a valuable tool to engage their customers.

Storm Creek, a 1% for the Planet partner and WBENC-certified woman-owned business, has a goal of donating $5 million to charity by 2030, and as of its most recent impact report, the supplier is nearly halfway there, having donated more than $2.1 million. All the products in its 2024 Everyday Eco catalog are sustainably made with upcycled materials, water conservation and no harmful chemicals, according to the supplier.
