Storm Creek Joins bluesign as System Partner

An executive at the Swiss sustainable textile firm said the U.S.-based supplier is setting an “inspiring example for the entire promotional products industry” when it comes to sustainability efforts.

Eagan, MN-based apparel supplier Storm Creek (asi/89879), a 2024 Counselor Best Place to Work, is now formally partnered with sustainable textile certifier bluesign.

Storm Creek (asi/89879) has committed to using only bluesign-approved fabrics by the end of 2025.

As an official bluesign system partner, Storm Creek has pledged to use only bluesign-approved fabrics by the end of 2025. The firm’s upcoming 2025 product catalog already features a range of products made with bluesign-certified fabrics.

“This partnership takes our already strong commitment to sustainability to the next level,” said Doug Jackson, founder and president of Storm Creek. “Our aim is to inspire and educate promotional products distributors to sell sustainably and to increase the impact their end-buyers can have. Storm Creek is proud to set the standard for the promo industry.”

Bluesign says it offers a solution for sustainable textile production by eliminating harmful substances from the beginning of the manufacturing process and setting and controlling standards for environmentally friendly and safe production. Storm Creek says its new partnership with bluesign aligns with its mission “to deliver high-performance, sustainable apparel while minimizing environmental impact.”

Daniel Rüfenacht, CEO of bluesign technologies, praised Storm Creek for its efforts. “Their commitment to using 100% bluesign-approved fabrics by 2025 is a bold and commendable step toward a more sustainable future,” he said. “Storm Creek’s leadership in this area sets an inspiring example for the entire promotional products industry.”

Founded in 2000, bluesign now has more than 850 system partners, with a variety of well-known brands in the outdoor, sportswear and fashion industry using its services to help collectively reduce the textile industry’s impact on people and planet, according to the company.

A WBENC-certified business, Storm Creek has a focus on sustainability and charitable giving. The supplier, a member of 1% for the Planet and the Minnesota Keystone Program, has a mission of giving back, with a goal of donating $5 million to charity by 2030.

Storm Creek ranked 28th on Counselor’s 2024 Best Places To Work in promo list. Employees said the three words that best describe the company are “supportive,” “tenacious” and “dynamic.”
