Instagram Takeover: SewHippy
SewHippy in Columbus, OH, does a little bit of everything, according to Bailey Smith, the shop’s customer service and social media tech. “We say that no project is too big or too small,” she adds.
The decorated-apparel shop has seven embroidery heads, one of which is equipped with a laser; a direct-to-garment printer; a UV printer; a large-format printer; five heat presses; and a four-head screen-printing press. In addition to creating custom apparel, the shop has printed birthday cards and created buttons, magnets, stickers and more.
“What sets us apart from other businesses is how multi-faceted we are and how we’re able to accept almost every project that comes through the door,” Smith says.
SewHippy was started nine years ago by Maria Bruck, who also recently launched BusyBeeHub, office management software for creative businesses. In addition to Smith and Bruck, the shop has two other employees, whose focus is on completing orders, from design to production.
We let SewHippy take over the Wearables Instagram page for a day to get an insider view of this groovy decorated-apparel shop. To begin, Smith took us on a quick tour of the shop:
