Potential New Instagram Feature Could Benefit Marketers
A savvy tech pro has discovered that Instagram is working on a new feature that would empower users to share their Instagram Story via a unique link.
Jane Manchun Wong, a reverse engineering expert who uncovers unreleased features on social platforms and more, discovered the under-work potential share option buried in the deep folds of Instagram code.

Instagram has been beta-testing the feature for at least several months. Should the popular image-driven social platform release the Story share option for users, it could potentially be a big boon for marketers – including those in the promotional products industry -- that are eager to get the most promotional life out of their Instagram Stories content.
Currently, Stories disappear after just 24 hours, making some brands hesitant to invest time and resources into creating content for the medium given the limited timespan Stories allows for generating ROI. While the Stories Archive and Highlights addresses the issue to an extent, the fact remains that the most hi-visibility span for a Story is finite.
However, if marketers could link back to a Story, they could possibly get a lot more promotional punch from the medium. For instance, marketers could share Story links on other social platforms and feature them in e-newsletters.
There’s yet no word on when Instagram might do a full roll-out on the unique link feature for Stories.
