Prime Line Thanksgiving Outreach Helps Low Income Families
Prime, the hard goods division of Top 40 supplier alphabroder (asi/34063), partnered with a local nonprofit on the initiative.
This Thanksgiving, Prime Line (asi/79530) is giving thanks by giving back.
The hard goods division of Top 40 supplier alphabroder (asi/34063), Bridgeport, CT-based Prime Line sponsored the Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s Great Thanksgiving Project, which provides turkeys, Thanksgiving fixings, winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves to more than 3,200 low-income families in Connecticut’s Fairfield County.
It’s the third consecutive year Prime Line has sponsored the initiative.
“The Great Thanksgiving Event is an amazing opportunity for Prime to partner with The Bridgeport Rescue Mission. We honor the mission year-round, as they extend kindness on a daily basis to our local community,” said Maria Koppy, vice president of organizational development for Prime Line. “In addition to donating items, our employees appreciate the cherished hands-on volunteer experience they take away from this event. Our goal is to create an awareness within our company, to serve others and to support important causes.”
Distribution for the Thanksgiving Project took place between November 14 and 20. Prime donated 5,000 tote bags, and several employees were on-site helping in a variety of ways – work that included handing out food and helping guests shop for coats. David Bennett was one of Prime’s volunteers. “It feels great to work in a place that routinely gives back to its community,” Bennett said.
Prime has a tradition of supporting both industry and community causes, such as the Promotional Products Education Foundation, the Breast Cancer Alliance, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Susan’s Rock – Stand Strong Against Domestic Violence, and others.
Since 2014, Prime Line, the third largest employer in Bridgeport, has supported the Bridgeport Rescue Mission with ongoing donations of blankets, bags, hats and hot cocoa. “We are grateful for caring companies like Prime Line who are committed to serving our community and ensuring that no need goes unmet this Thanksgiving,” said Terry Wilcox, executive director of the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.
Prime Line was a Top 40 supplier in the promotional products industry before being acquired by alphabroder in late 2017. With reported 2017 North American promotional product revenue of $1.37 billion, alphabroder ranked second on Counselor’s latest list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
