Walker Loses Wisconsin, But His Baseball Card Promo Was A Win
On Tuesday, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker lost his bid for re-election to Democratic challenger Tony Evers. Nonetheless, Walker won (our admittedly less significant) accolade for “Most Clever Promotional Product of the Midterm Election Cycle.” Is that a thing? Not really. We sorta just made it up.
But still, Walker’s product is fun and savvy.
As you can see, the now outgoing GOP governor created a baseball card that features him in a Brewers jersey. For the baseball-challenged: the Brewers are a pro baseball team that plays in Milwaukee, WI. Debuted around the start of baseball season this year, the back of the card lists in baseball-themed fashion – single, double, homerun, etc. – accomplishments the incumbent engineered while in office.

Regardless of your political affiliation, you have to admit that Walker’s card was a refreshingly clever bit of campaign merch. We could see political memorabilia aficionados pining to place the card in their collections. In this campaign swag, perhaps there’s a little creative inspiration for promotional products distributors.
Anyhow, what was your favorite campaign merch from this election cycle? Let us know on twitter @ChrisR_ASI.
Quick final thought: This poop-kickin’ bottle cooler in the form of cowboy boots from Republican Marsha Blackburn, the U.S. Senator-elect in Tennessee, was a hoot, too.
