The fashion blanks supplier will continue to operate as an independent brand under the leadership of Executive Vice President and Counselor Power 50 member Megan Spire.

“The brand, the team and the creative vision that built BELLA+CANVAS remain exactly where they belong, at the center of everything we do,” Spire said. “For our customers and partners, the message is simple: The people, products and brand they trust remain firmly in place.”

According to the companies, the acquisition strengthens BELLA+CANVAS’ position in the marketplace and provides additional resources to accelerate innovation, product development, quality and customer experience while preserving the identity and creative vision of the brand.

“We’re excited about what lies ahead,” Spire added, “and focused on continuing to deliver the premium quality, product innovation and design leadership that have defined BELLA+CANVAS from the beginning.”

The path to purchase remains straightforward, according to the suppliers. Products will continue to be available directly at bellacanvas.com and through SanMar, which will serve as the exclusive national wholesale distributor of BELLA+CANVAS products moving forward. They will also be available through BELLA+CANVAS’ network of long-standing local and regional distributor partners, including Apparel Coast to Coast (asi/37355), Carolina Made (asi/43993), McCreary’s Tees, Mission Imprintables (asi/71781), One Stop, SLC Activewear and Counselor Top 40 supplier Staton Corporate & Casual (asi/89380).

Customers may continue to purchase BELLA+CANVAS garments through other national wholesale distributors while inventory remains available.

BELLA+CANVAS co-founders Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge started screen printing in their garage in 1992 and launched the dedicated women’s apparel line Bella in 1998. Two years later, they launched their men’s line, Canvas, merging the two brands in 2002.

As a family-owned company with a long-term perspective, SanMar said it recognizes the unique strengths of BELLA+CANVAS and the opportunity to invest in its future. “Our commitment is simple: Give BELLA+CANVAS the focused ownership and resources it needs to keep doing what it does best and to deliver even more of what the market expects from this exceptional brand,” Jeremy Lott, president and CEO of SanMar and a member of the Counselor Power 50, said when the acquisition was first announced.

Looking ahead, BELLA+CANVAS plans to introduce more than 20 new styles for 2027.

“Creativity and great design have always been part of our DNA here at BELLA+CANVAS,” said Michelle Yu, vice president of creative and design. “We will continue to create products that inspire our customers.”

Based on North American promotional products revenue of $3.8 billion, Issaquah, WA-based SanMar ranks first on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry. New rankings are due out in July.
