Glenwood, MN-based distributor ASB (asi/120075) is giving back to the local community.

At its annual Accelerate event, the Counselor Top 40 distributor raised $10,000 for Star of the North, a Minnesota nonprofit organization that provides transitional housing to pregnant women and mothers experiencing housing instability.

Since opening its doors in 2019, Star of the North has welcomed mothers and families into its Duluth location and recently expanded with additional rooms in Hibbing, MN. Staff and volunteers work closely with each mother to provide stability, support and guidance as they prepare for the future.

“We’re helping moms write their stories,” said Molly Rathke, program manager at Star of the North.

The organization’s goal is to transform women’s lives with education, holistic medical care and comprehensive services. It relies on relationships with community partners to provide these comprehensive services to mothers and families in the region.

Every year, ASB’s Accelerate event raises money for a local charity. Thanks to the generosity of ASB and its supplier partners, this year’s contribution was double last year’s.

Based on North American promotional products revenue of $325.1 million, ASB ranks 12th on Counselor’s most recent list of largest distributors in the industry. New rankings will be released in July.
