Leopard Print Is Back on the Prowl

The pattern has re-emerged as a popular consumer trend thanks to TikTok, runway looks and celebrities’ sartorial choices.

Leopard print is back in fashion circles once again, making it a coveted look that’s perfect for upcoming promo campaigns.

The pattern has long been a part of haute couture circles – celebrities and fashion models have donned it since the Roaring Twenties. In 1962, First Lady Jackie Kennedy stepped out in an Oleg Cassini coat made of real leopard pelts (the trend was not without controversy).

Since then, the pattern has waxed and waned over the decades. It was a favorite among musical groups like the Spice Girls and Destiny’s Child in the late 1990s and early 2000s. And now, as “Y2K” looks re-emerge among Gen Z, including bold statement pieces, leopard print is a natural part of the aesthetic that’s also become popular on TikTok.

Recent leopard print styles from fashion houses like Dolce & Gabbana, Michael Kors and Gucci have further amplified the trend, while a number of celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Rosamund Pike and Jennifer Lopez rocked printed apparel and accessories in recent months.

A related trend is the “mob wife” aesthetic, à la Connie Corleone, Karen Hill and Carmela Soprano. “The most basic version involves throwing a fur coat – real or faux – over an all-black outfit,” writes Callie Holtermann in the New York Times. “But according to its proponents, the look is nothing without the attitude to go with it.”

Promotional product suppliers have a plethora of spotted options for distributor clients who want to go bold with their next campaign.
