3 Proven Ways To Build a Self-Promo Campaign
In a webinar on the ASI Learning Network, sales veteran Cliff Quicksell offers his expertise for expanding client bases with this attention-grabbing marketing tactic.
Self-promotions are a surefire way to win more clients. By putting together curated kits of promotional products decorated with their own company branding, distributors can display their capabilities and generate interest among potential and existing customers.

In this webinar, Cliff Quicksell, CEO of Cliff Quicksell & Associates, shares tips on identifying and analyzing target audiences, crafting compelling messages, using visuals and products that get results and much more. Here are three from the presentation.
1. Successful self-promotion starts with precise audience targeting.
For the best impact, avoid generic campaigns that may not resonate with all prospects and existing customers. Instead, segment both groups by vertical market, analyze trends and profitability, and tailor campaigns to the specific needs, demographics and interests of each group.
2. Messaging must be clear, concise, emotional and relevant to make it compelling.
Strong campaigns rely on short, impactful messages that hit an emotional trigger. Overly complex copy quickly loses the readers’ attention. Quicksell encourages using tools like AI, Pinterest and Google to develop sharper themes, wording and packaging ideas that align with the product and audience.
“Marketers have a tendency to think that the recipient will understand what they’re trying to say,” he advises. “But they’re too busy. You’re too busy. So, you need to make sure that your message is clear, relevant and has strong impact.”
3. Creative product selection and packaging dramatically elevate the recipients’ perception.
Consider moving beyond simple giveaways like pens, sticky notes and mugs to create maximum impact – the most effective promotions integrate unique packaging, themed concepts and interactive elements. Creativity signals value, sets the distributor apart and positions the distributor as more than “just a product person.”
