The Bright Side: Crystal D Announces 2024 Giveback Program

The supplier chose four nonprofits to support via sales of its Legacy Gallery collection.

Crystal D (asi/47759) is all about giving back.

To that end, the St. Paul, MN-based supplier of corporate awards and gifts announced four nonprofits it will be contributing to in 2024, via its Crystal D Cares giveback program.

“We created Crystal D Cares to honor the legacy of our late founder, Chuck Dahlgren, recognizing his deep belief in the power of generosity and profound desire to share what we have with others,” said Jeanne Dahlgren, president and CEO. “We are excited about the organizations we have chosen for this year, and beyond thankful for the work they do in our world.”

With each purchase from the Legacy Gallery, a collection of 10 new award designs, Crystal D will donate 20% of the total product sale to nonprofits that focus on areas such as children, seniors, veterans, community, animals, the environment and health research.

The supplier has selected four nonprofits for 2024:

  • Water for South Sudan helps provide water and hygiene training to South Sudan, where nearly 60% of the population lacks access to clean, safe water. For just $2, the nonprofit can provide clean water to one person for an entire year. Thus far, Water for South Sudan has drilled more than 600 wells, rehabbed more than 400 and given more than 800 hygiene trainings in the country, among other work, according to the nonprofit’s website.
  • The International Rett Syndrome Foundation (IRSF) funds research to treat Rett syndrome, a rare genetic neurological disorder that leads to severe impairments, including to speech, hand use and coordination. The IRSF was dear to Chuck Dahlgren’s heart, according to Crystal D, because a close family friend is experiencing Rett syndrome. The foundation’s efforts have helped make strides with research breakthroughs, including FDA-approved trials for two therapy drugs to help extend the independent life of patients with the syndrome.
  • The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, created by the founder of the Wendy’s restaurant chain, helps bring children to adoption through the foster care system. The foundation says it’s dedicated to finding forever families for the more than 140,000 children waiting to be adopted from foster care in the U.S. and Canada.
  • 4 Paws for Ability trains service dogs to help children, adults and veterans with disabilities and special needs. The canines can be trained for specialized tasks that include high- and low-blood sugar detection, mobility and seizure response. Thus far, the nonprofit has matched more than 18,000 service dogs with owners in need. Donations are used to help provide food, veterinary care and other essentials as the organization prepares and trains each service dog.

Crystal D has been making recognition products for over 30 years, offering more than 1,500 awards and gifts.
