HPG Adds Cake, Biscuit Brands to Batch & Bodega Line
The brands have been featured on Oprah’s “Favorite Things.”
The promo industry just got a little tastier.
HPG (asi/61966) said it’s bringing food offerings from Charleston, SC-based Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit and Fort Lauderdale, FL-based We Take The Cake to the promo products market through the Top 40 firm’s Batch & Bodega line. HPG noted that the partnerships are exclusive, meaning the Braintree, MA-headquartered firm will be the only supplier selling the brands in the promo space.
“As we progress out of our post-COVID bubble, we wanted to add maker partners with food designed to be shared with friends and family,” said Jason Lucash, Batch & Bodega founder and chief development officer at HPG. “Both Callie’s and We Take The Cake are aligned in their ability to churn out amazing handmade regional favorites.”
Both Callie’s and We Take The Cake have appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s “Favorite Things.”
We Take The Cake is known for its delicious and attractive layer cakes, Bundt cakes and decorative cupcakes. Every treat is handmade without artificial flavors or preservatives, according to HPG. Batch & Bodega will offer a variety of We Take The Cake staples, including its Prize-Wining Chocolate 4-Layer Cake and Key Lime Bundt Cake, along with limited-time offerings, such as its Father’s Day 4-Layer Cake and Patriotic 4-Layer Cake.
“We’re providing a product that helps people celebrate all the joys in their life,” said We Take The Cake owner Kevin Petrovsky.
Callie’s focuses on handcrafted biscuits baked with the wholesome goodness of the best Southern kitchens, executives said. “My hope is that when people try our Callie’s biscuits, they feel the warmth, taste the deliciousness and can feel the love that has been put into the handmade process,” said founder/CEO Carrie Morey, who’ll be featured on a 10-episode PBS series, How She Rolls, which debuts May 13.
Callie’s biscuits ship frozen. They’re designed to be heated on arrival and are available from Batch & Bodega in flavors ranging from buttermilk to cheese & chive.
HPG launched Batch & Bodega, a line of craft-style food gift packages, in 2020. The supplier has been adding to the line with new partnerships, including the launch of fresh food offerings in April.
With reported 2019 North American promotional product revenue of $205.7 million, HPG ranked 9th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the promotional products industry. The new list is due out in the summer of 2021.
Promo supplier companies that are part of HPG include Hub, Beacon, Best, Debco, BCG Creations, Origaudio, Handstands, HPG Exclusive, Batch & Bodega and Webb Company.
