Counselor Top 40 supplier HPG (asi/61966) has released its annual sustainability report.

Other highlights include HPG achieving EcoVadis Platinum certification for the second consecutive year. This distinction places the Braintree, MA-based firm among the top 1% of companies ranked by the business sustainability platform.

“[It’s] a testament to what’s possible when an entire organization is aligned around a shared purpose,” said Jing Rong, vice president of supply chain and sustainability at HPG. “I’m incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished.”

HPG said it continues to expand its environmental impact through a partnership with Evertreen. For every order of its natural material products, HPG plants a tree, resulting in nearly 18,000 trees planted to date. Through its tracker map, customers can see exactly where trees are planted and how much CO₂ is offset, providing an extra level of transparency.

In product innovation, HPG said it’s building on past successes while setting ambitious new goals. Two years ago, the company transitioned Origaudio’s bestselling Boxanne speaker to recycled plastic, without increasing the price. This Earth Day, HPG said it’s making another commitment: The supplier’s Hub brand will transition its bestselling Javalina pen family to recycled plastic by 2028. This initiative will impact more than 60 million pens annually, significantly reducing virgin plastic use at scale, according to HPG.

“Our sustainability journey is rooted in action, not just intention,” said CEO Chris Anderson, a member of the Counselor Power 50 list of the most influential people in promo. “From achieving EcoVadis Platinum status to rethinking materials across our most popular products, and practices across our global enterprise, we are committed to making meaningful changes that benefit our customers, communities and the planet.”

HPG ranks eighth on Counselor’s most recent list of the top suppliers in the industry, with 2024 North American promotional products revenue of $278.8 million.
