T-Shirts Commemorate Miami Dolphins’ ‘Miami Miracle’
Fans of the National Football League’s (NFL) Miami Dolphins had hardly stopped cheering their team’s wildly improbable last-gasp win over the New England Patriots on Sunday before branded T-Shirts celebrating the “Miami Miracle” were on the market. Check this one out from Breaking T:
Football fans will get the graphic right away. It’s a diagram of the game’s final wacky play in which a pass followed by some flea-flicking followed by a mad dash for the end zone enabled the Dolphins to down the Patriots with a score with no time left on the clock. Just watch the video and you’ll see what we mean:

Interestingly enough, the Dolphins dubbed the play “Boise” – a nod to a play Boise State University executed in similarly spectacular fashion in a college football bowl game more than a decade ago, according to media reports.
Other “Miami Miracle” T-shirts were hitting the market, too.

Now, purveyors of such tees can potentially run into tricky copyright territory, depending on the specific nature of their design and whether or not they have the proper licensing partnerships in place. However, the phenomenon of the merch is still worth noting, especially for apparel decorators and promotional products distributors with in-house decorating capabilities. Significant events/media storylines within the American cultural landscape – good, bad or just plain uncanny – provide potential foundations from which think-quick entrepreneurs can possibly create and sell tees and other merchandise with the potential to go viral given the keen interest in the subject. From hard-hitting political topics like the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings to the quirky hilarity of “Thumbs Down Guy,” cultural occurrences from which imprinted products can be created for profit -- or to support a worthy cause -- are happening all the time.
